AIRMAIL on the Philippines

1919 -1946

from the first shipment until Boeing clipper

(excluding japanese occupation 1942-1945)

 

An airmail collection of the Philippines. In chronical sequence but connected to the matter it is presented:

the real beginning and continious extension of air mail shipping done by american, italian, spainish, british, netherlands, philippines and german pilots as well as the airmail postage stamps issued during this period.

Special consideration finds the stormy development during the 1930th, pressed forward by

  • the US Army Air Force and

  • different civil air companies

(If there are any relevant postal markings at reverse it is shown as well. The slight difference in color of the covers depends on the scan settings.)

 

This collection had been exhibited on three exhibitions in Germany:
